Before you speak, let your words pass through three gates: Is it true? Is it necessary? Is it kind?

The Power of Words
Words are power. This is a fact you can see throughout your day-to-day life. When a person says to someone that they love them, that person is not going to react the same way as when you say that you hate them.
But a word itself is not something that can actually harm you. When you hear something in a language you do not understand, the word is not going to affect you.
What can affect you is the intention and the energy behind those words. Even when you do not understand what someone is saying, you will always pick up the vibrations of that energy.
Water, The Mirror of Our Energy
So how does this exactly work? When you say that you hate someone, or that they are ugly or stupid, you are striking at the ego. But it goes much deeper than just the ego:
The energy behind words affects the molecular structure of the water inside of us!
Water has a deep connection to life. You can learn a lot about life just by looking at it. But when I was working on my bachelor’s thesis, with the theme WATER, I realized that there is so much more to learn from it than what meets the eye.
I wanted to merge my fascination with the element with my spiritual and creative side to create an environment where they could all come together. In this search, I stumbled upon the study of Dr. Masaru Emoto, and this changed everything.
Water Has Memory
In Dr. Emoto’s “Water has Memory” study, he explored what energy does to water. I’ll explain this in a very simple and brief way, but I highly recommend watching the full study
Dr. Emoto took water samples in little flasks. Every flask was then exposed to different emotions, music, and environments. Afterward, he froze the water and examined the crystal formations of each flask under a microscope. The results were absolutely amazing!
When they sent positive words, energy, or music to the water, the ice showed symmetric and aesthetically pleasing crystals. However, when you talked negatively to the water or placed it in a low-vibrational environment, the ice showed irregular and less attractive patterns.
Love increases the energy level and stabilizes the water, while hate reduces the energy and causes radical changes in the structure. So, the molecular structure of the water changes.
To go even deeper, Emoto gave a flask of highly polluted water to a few monks. This water was exposed to their affirmations and chants. The difference between the water before and after was incredible.

”Words are the vibrations of nature. Therefore beautiful words create beautiful nature, Ugly words create ugly nature. This is the root of the Universe.”

How Words Shape Our Lives and Bodies
Now, to circle back to the fact that words have power—if you know that our bodies are roughly 70% made of water, think about how words can affect the structure of that water within you, and in this way, influence you as a person.
This applies not only to what others say to you, but also to how you speak to yourself!
A lot of the time, you are your own worst enemy. Saying you are not good enough for something, that you are too much of this or too little of that, affects us on a deeper level than just hurting our feelings.
I saw this quote from Hitomi Mochizuki, where she says, “I was always bullying myself in my head in the name of self-improvement. But you can’t hate yourself into a version you love.” Words are energy, and where you focus your energy, it grows. It manifests itself.
Let’s say you really want to be an artist, but every time you make something, you say to yourself, “This is not good enough. My art is never going to put bread on the table. I’m a failure…” You are going down a downward spiral. The words are said with emotions such as anger and fear, which are low-vibrational emotions. This reduces the energy in the water of our body and creates irregular patterns in the molecular structure. The lack of energy only affects you in a negative way.
But not only that, what you say manifests itself, so you are manifesting the doom of the business you desperately want to create.
You attract negative energy by having that negative thought pattern. People always say, “You are what you eat.” Well, the same goes for thoughts and words: “You become what you think.” So focus on positive thoughts and this will positively affect your life!
Practical Steps to Create a Positive Mindset
It is not easy to control what you say or think all the time. Sometimes things just slip out before your brain can even register what you are about to say. So, the first step in having a more positive way of speaking is being aware.
When you are talking to someone or talking to yourself, be aware of what you say, of what triggers you, and what makes you say things that could hurt you or another person. Observe and learn from this.
It is a practice. We live in a world where it is easier to live life from a negative perspective—the perspective that people call “realistic.” So, it sometimes feels as if you are swimming against the current. But you can do it!
Instead of saying in the morning, “Oh, I’m so tired,” “I hate my job,” or “I’m a failure,” try saying, “I’m receiving new energy to start my day,” “I’m doing great. Even though I do not love my job, I am providing for myself, and this will help me in the future to build my dream,” or “I’m doing the best that I can, and that is enough.”
Little practices like this can help build a routine of using your words and thoughts as your power to receive the things you deserve. Eventually, this will become easier, and you will master your energy because you master your words and thoughts—and in that way, master your life.
I hope this will help you build a more positive mindset and use your words very carefully. Be aware that your words are a power that can build mountains but also break everything down just as easily.
So talk from a place of love, and then life will return that same energy.
Lots of love
